Issue Position

The Tennessee Program as referred to by Bill Haslam provides free tuition for any high school graduate that attends a two year community college. While the premise always is alluring, the question that has to be asked is "who pays for this program?' The answer of course is you. Haslam claims to be conservative yet is pushing to expand state government by introducing the Tennessee Program. At the end of the day this is nothing more than big government that is destroying our Republic.

As your Governor, I will not push for a program that will end up costing you, the taxpayer more money. Government is inefficient and we don't need more of it; we need less of it.

Free college tuition is one more giant step toward socialism and we've gone too far in that direction already.
